Victorian antique collar and locket c.1837-1901. This statement necklace features a thick ridged Belcher silver chain with a large round bolt ring clasp. The oval locket hangs from the chains clasp, it has fine etched detailing around the edge of the piece. On the inside of the locket there are two windows to place pictures.
The plastic panes pop out at the front and the back allowing for two pictures picture, lock of hair or a thin momento would be able to fit into the locket.
The Locket is perhaps the most mysterious and alluring pieces of jewellery. Only the wearer knows what secrets lie within the locket. It has to be the ultimate love token.
MEASUREMENTS
The necklace measures 41cm / 16" in length with a thickness of 0.6cm / 0.2" and the locket measures 6cms / 2.3" in height (including the bails and clasp) and 2.7cm / 1" in width. The chain is hallmarked on the clasp 'SILVER'.
CONDITION
The locket and chain are in excellent antique condition.
